Fix database restore failures being hidden and targeting wrong files

Shipped in Margin Master 2026.910.33745 · September 10, 2026

Fixed two critical bugs in the database restore feature that caused restore operations to appear successful when they actually failed, and could target files still in use by the live database. The restore dialog now correctly reports SQL Server errors immediately and always names restored files after the new database name.

What changed

Database restore now reports SQL Server errors immediately

If a database restore fails, you'll now see the actual error message from SQL Server right away instead of waiting 30 seconds for a vague timeout message.

Database restore file naming fixed for non-standard backups

Database restores now work correctly even when the backup file name doesn't match the database name inside it, preventing conflicts with your live database files.
