POS / Connections Tabs
What is this?
The POS / Connections group in Tools > Options shows one tab, named for the point of sale chosen on Store Information, holding that system's connection settings. This page tells you which tab to expect and where its guide is; the guides themselves are in Chapter 7.
Walk through it in the app: guide 1015 — Reconnecting your data feeds on a new computer checks every connection after a move. Margin Master can walk you through these steps live: turn on Training / Guide Mode from the Help menu, then type 1015 into the Lessons & Guides box — or ask Margin Master support to run it with you.
Which tab you see
| POS System Type | Tab | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Epicor | Epicor - FTP connection, or MySQL/Compass when Connect via MySQL / Compass is ticked | Epicor Eagle FTP Import · Epicor MySQL Compass Import |
| Mi9 Retail | MI9 | MI9 POS Import |
| SpruceWare.Net / RockSolid MAX | A tab named SpruceWare.Net or RockSolid MAX - one connection card per store | Spruce · RockSolid MAX |
| NCR Counterpoint | NCR Counterpoint | Supported Point-of-Sale Systems |
| BisTrack | Bistrack - direct connect or file import | Bistrack POS Import |
| Propello | Propello - portal URL, user and password | Propello POS Integration Guide |
| Every other system | no tab | File-based: set the Import Path on Miscellaneous and follow the system's guide |
Changing the POS System Type swaps the tab immediately. In Demo Mode the group is hidden.
What the tabs have in common
- Test & Save Connection / Test Connection - checks the connection and, when it works, saves it and backs it up to the Margin Master cloud keyed to your store.
- Restore from Cloud… - brings a saved connection back on a new or rebuilt computer.
- Open Store Manager… - closes Options and opens the Store Manager, where the point-of-sale stores are matched to vendor store numbers.
Tips
Set up in this order: Store Information (vendor and POS) → the POS tab (connection) → Store Manager (matchup) → Data > Get POS Data.
Common Questions
Q: My point of sale has no tab here. A: It is file-based. Point the Import Path at the export folder and use Data > Get POS Data.
Q: The tab shows the wrong point of sale. A: Change POS System Type on Store Information; the tab follows it.
