Save and Load Saved Selections

What is this?

A saved selection is a snapshot of the selection boxes, the Future Price panel settings, the rounding scheme and the SKU-type choice, stored under a name inside the active strategy. Save one with the camera; load one to put the main window back exactly as it was. Saved selections are also the strategy's steps - the same snapshot, run in order, is what prices the store (Chapter 15).

Saving a selection - the camera

Strategy > Save Current Selection, or the camera Save button on the Future Price panel (tooltip Save Selections).

The Save Selection dialog asks for a Selection Name (3-50 characters). If a saved selection is already loaded it also offers:

  • Update Existing Rule - overwrite the loaded selection with what is on screen now (the button reads Update);
  • Create New Rule - save under a new name (the button reads Save).

A name that already exists shows A saved selection already exists with that name!. With nothing selected and no future-price action set, Margin Master says No filters or actions selected! Nothing to save!

What is captured:

Saved From
Every selection box, including include/exclude, wildcard and manual amounts the selection panel
Set Future Price to, Plus or Minus, Apply Rounding and scheme, No Decreases, Min/Max the Future Price panel
The SKU type - Show Ace / Non-Ace / ALL Skus the button row

The saved selection lands as the last step of the active strategy, active, and the strategy is backed up to the cloud. A snapshot-margin rule shows an extra reminder that snapshot rules do not pick up new items automatically and only include items with a cost.

Opening Load Saved Selection

  • Keyboard: Ctrl+L
  • Menu: Strategy > Load Saved Selection
  • Strategy Manager: select a step and press Load - the manager closes and the step's selection is applied

Using Load Saved Selection

Load Saved Selection dialog

  1. Saved Selections · 2. Refresh Data on Load? · 3. Load

Active Strategy

The dialog displays your Active Strategy name at the top. Saved selections are stored per strategy — you can only load selections that belong to the currently active strategy.

Saved Selections Dropdown

The Saved Selections dropdown shows all saved selections for the active strategy. You can:

  • Click the dropdown to browse the full list in a searchable popup grid
  • Type characters directly to filter the list — matching is incremental

Each entry shows a # (sequence number) and the Saved Selection Name.

Tip: The dropdown supports incremental search. Start typing any part of the selection name to quickly narrow down the list.

Custom Groups

If you select a saved selection named "Custom Groups", the dropdown switches to a Custom Groups picker where you can choose a specific custom group to load.

Refresh Data on Load

The Refresh Data on Load? checkbox controls whether data is refreshed from the database when loading the selection:

  • Checked (default): Rebuilds the main table data before applying the saved selection filters. Use this when your data may have changed since the last load.
  • Unchecked: Applies only the saved filter/view settings without refreshing underlying data. Faster, but data reflects the last refresh.

This setting is remembered between sessions.

Load and Cancel

  • Load — loads the selected saved selection and applies its filters to the main grid. Only enabled when a selection is chosen.
  • Cancel — closes the dialog without changes.

Tips

Tip: If you previously loaded a saved selection, it will be pre-selected the next time you open this dialog.

Tip: Uncheck "Refresh Data on Load" for faster loading when you just want to switch between different filter views without waiting for a data rebuild.

Common Questions

Q: Where are saved selections stored? A: Saved selections are stored in the GlobalFileConfig table in your database under the STRATEGIES section. They are associated with a specific strategy name.

Q: Why is the Load button disabled? A: You must select a saved selection from the dropdown before you can load. The Load button enables only when a selection is chosen.

Q: What happens if I don't have an active strategy? A: The dialog will show no saved selections. You need to create and activate a pricing strategy first.
