Documentation and the Help Buttons

What is this?

This handbook lives at marginmaster.com/documents and Margin Master links straight into it from two places: the Help menu, and the small blue ? button on most windows.

Help > Documentation

Opens the documentation home in your browser. From there the Handbook view reads the pages in order, Part by Part; By Category groups them by topic; the search box searches every page. Each page has Previous and Next links so a chapter can be read straight through.

The blue ? button

Many windows - Rounding Schemes, the Strategy Manager, Cost Breaks, Quick Find, Database Setup, the Options tabs and others - carry a blue circle with a ? in a corner. Hover it for a hint (Click for help or a more specific line such as Learn how to create and edit rounding schemes); click it and the browser opens the page for that window.

The button works whether or not Margin Master is signed in to anything: the pages are public. Support-only sections of a page are visible only to support staff signed in to marginmaster.com.

Downloading a page

Every page has PDF and Word download buttons at the top, and a This Page / All Docs search toggle. Downloads contain the same content you see on screen.

Tips

Pressing the ? on the window you are stuck on is faster than searching - it lands on the exact page.

The handbook is updated continuously; if a screen looks different from its page, the page is probably older than your version - tell Margin Master support through Help > Support Issues.

Common Questions

Q: The ? button does nothing. A: The browser could not be started, or the computer has no browser set as default. Open marginmaster.com/documents by hand.

Q: Can I read the documentation offline? A: Download the pages you need as PDF while online; there is no offline copy inside Margin Master.
