Catalog Lookup
What is this?
Help > Catalog Lookup shows everything the vendor catalog holds for one SKU - description, status, catalog attributes and every zone's prices - and compares your local copy with the cloud. It answers the questions support hears most: what does the vendor say this item is? and is my data out of date for this item?
Looking a SKU up
- Help > Catalog Lookup opens the Catalog Lookup window for your vendor (its name shows at the top-left).
- Type a SKU or part of a description (at least 3 characters) in SKU: and press Enter or Lookup. The status line reads Searching..., then N items found or No items found.
- Pick the item. The header shows the SKU (with a copy button), description, Sku Detail Updated date and a status pill - red when the item is Deleted.
What is shown
Ace Hardware and Emery Jensen
- MAPP Pricing banner with MAP Price and iMAP Price when the item has them - see Ace MAP & IMAP Pricing.
- Zone Pricing - one row per zone with Retail, Level 1, Level 2, MSU Retail and Last Update; zone 99999 is shown as National.
- Catalog Information - Product Group, Merch Class, Vendor #, Vendor Name, Department, Pricing Strategy, DOM and RDOM.
Do it Best
- Pricing - Suggested Retail, Level 1, Level 2.
- Catalog Information - RSC, Product Group, Vendor #, Vendor Name, Department, Unit, Status Code, Discontinued.
Cloud Comparison - while the window fetches the item from the cloud it reads Fetching cloud data...; then Local data matches cloud, or Differences: ... listing what differs, with a Cloud Zone Pricing grid. SKU not found in cloud means the vendor no longer publishes the item; Cloud unavailable means no connection.
View in web at the bottom opens the same lookup on marginmaster.com.
Tips
If the comparison shows differences, run Data > Update Vendor Data - your local catalog is behind the cloud.
Use it before pricing a single item by hand: the zone table tells you what the vendor thinks the item should sell for in every zone, not just yours.
Common Questions
Q: The lookup finds nothing for a SKU I sell. A: The item is not in the vendor catalog (a non-vendor SKU), or the SKU is written differently in your point of sale. Check the grid's SKU-type drop-down and the Description search.
Q: Which zone is mine? A: The one assigned in the Store Manager; the grid's Z column marks items priced by zone.
